Laramie, Wyoming, 49 miles from the state's capital of Cheyenne, is a city of over 30,000 nestled in south eastern Wyoming. The city, dating to 1873, makes the most of its old west heritage and historic locations with many events townsfolk and visitors can enjoy.
• Naughty Pines Derby Dames (Friday, March 25th at 7:30pm) - This is a great outdoor event where residents and visitors can meet and enjoy the natural beauty of this city and a fun day of high energy fun. Roller derby is the name of the game here with proceeds from the event going to the Naughty Pines Derby Dames. The Laramie Plains Civic Center also benefits. Location: 710 Garfield Suite 126 Admission: $5.
• High Country At Cowboy Saloon (Saturday, March 26th at 10:00pm) - The band High Country, describing themselves as "an upbeat swing country dance band" is scheduled to perform. A wide variety of country music acts perform here on a regular basis. Location: 108 South Second Street. Ticket prices vary by event.
• Jackalope 5K (Sunday, March 27th at 12:00pm) - This fund raising event is for a runner from Laramie High School named Erik Boss. The 5k race is an all ages event not meant to be that competitive. It is an ideal way to get to know the community. Walkers, runners and wheel chair participants are all invited to take part. Race Fee: $25. Students/HPH members receive $5 discount.
• 11th Annual Pharmacy Frolic 5K Run/Walk (Saturday, April 30th) - A different charity is selected each year and announced prior to the event. Once again, this is a very casual event. Walking, running, skipping or just hanging out is allowed and encouraged. Location: Optimist Park/Laramie Greenbelt. Admission: $5-20.
• Bryan Ragsdale (Friday, May 13th at 7:30pm) - Ragsdale writes and sings songs about Wyoming. His music is described as a old fashioned blend of folk, bluegrass and upbeat country. Ragsdale is one of several interesting local artists performing in the area on a regular basis. Location: 710 Garfield Suite 126 Admission: $12.
